The Indian mass psychology

Today morning as i woke up, i read a tea stall interaction item, on Arvind blog http://arvindjangid.blogspot.com/2010/12/blog-post_16.html. As i wrote the response to it, it triggered a thought process.
I see most of the blogs deal with the individual and society problems. I believe there is a way to predict the behavior of the masses. A mass can in an abstraction also be treated as a person. A mass is born, a mass is educated, a mass has it growing up phase, a mass has it teenage, a mass has it adulthood, a mass has its old age, a mass has its end. A mass can be treated as an individual.
Thinking on these lines, i realized if i were asked to evaluate a mass with the criteria of an individual, where would i rate the mass? Some very startling facts came to the fore. A mass is born, that is evident. But is the birth planned or unplanned. The answer is obvious, it is unplanned. For example, if we consider a mass, as a village, a small town, a city or any unit, it is but obvious to see that it is unplanned. The manner in which we grow to be a  mass is ad-hoc, just take a view around, the roads, the amenities, the facilities, the view is confirmed. The identification of the mass is done, when it grows up. Its an orphan in many cases, without the identity of its parents, the originators, in short "Bastard".
A uncontrolled and unplanned growth happens, which would have been the case with an individual. The resultant is a mass which has not been cultured, not educated. In short the mass does not know what it stands for, what is its nature, what is its speciality. A mass is a mass which is fighting for its identity. A very alive and kicking mass, but without a direction without a goal.
As in case of lucky individuals, some are adopted, so is the mass, The adoption can be a caste based, religion based adoption. It is fast, and the mass gets the identity it need. It has a name. It has a place. It has a वजूद . And that is what makes the mass a more volatile unit but a sort of cohesive unit. The parents who adopted the mass, are clever and control the child. The growth is now targeted towards achieving a set objective. That objective is natured and we get an "educated" mass.
In this educated mass are some educated individuals or the intellects. They are the ones trying to redefine the mass, but its a uphill task. So that is where the individuals sit in a tea stall and discuss the mass .. here comes in Arvidji blog ...
