I believe, motivation is essential for every action. The first question that comes to my mind when analyzing any thing is what's the motivation? what's the driving force? What's the me in it, what's the selfish part?
I love you ... This would be a phrase every one would have used, some add still and too with passage of time. But when one uses this phrase, it entails a lot of commitment, honesty, truthfulness, acceptance .... Etc .. Towards the person the feeling is expressed to.
I love india, this too is a much used phrase. But now lets compare the emotions behind these two phrases. Are they same? or is it when it comes to the heart throb, the heart is partial, but when it comes to the nation it's reluctant or careless. Is it not that the first love has our 100% and later less than 1%?
What makes us value the heart throb more? Because the motivation is that if we don't value and respect the heart throb, we might loose him/her. But a nation? We have the birth right to be indian, so it has no value? Isn't it? The nation has no voice, no mind, no reaction. Hence the value is missing?
Maybe it's this less motivation or lack of reaction that contributes to making us a corrupt, un honest towards the nation?
So back to the basics, honesty it's the best policy, but the teacher forgot to add towards who?
Simple and elementary towards self.
