The objective of an providing infrastructure in the BOT model or a PPP model is just the financial gain. The latest example is the Gurgaon Expressway. It is breaking the record of the speeds that it is meant to provide. Monday started with a 10 KM long jam, and it did not move the traffic police nor the government to correct the situation. Heard that Tuesday was no better, nor was today. The travel time between Delhi and Gurgaon has now increased a many fold. But is any one listening?
I cant list down the comment made by the operating company for the risk of inviting the ire of the authorities and the company concerned, but then thats what freedom of speech means. The sad part is there is no means of redressal, and the colossal machinery of the government is too lethargic to take notice of the problems, which in the first place should not have occurred if they were doing the job they were meant to.
Any ways i avoid, the highway now, for i feel my time is more valuable :)
