What's truth

Truth : A version of events,  as occurred, colored with interpretation.
Lie : A version of events, interpreted, and presented, with a bias.
I mused over the definitions, trying to redefine, these words.
Finally if it's just to redefine meanings, then do they have any meaning?
Must still have some meaning, because it hurts to be called a lair.
