Lost art of giving blessings ...

Elders when they bless they mean it. By elders i mean a lost generation. I do not know, how many of you would have had the experience of being blessed, and also have that feeling of absorbing that blessing.
A few days back, i was hearing a program on AIR, ( all india radio ), the only radio which is still in a different age, and maybe thats the reason i went back in time. It made me think, that with the changing life style, we might have lost the art of taking a blessing, as well as giving it.
The other day, a relative came, with his wife, newly married, and bent to and seemed to touch my feets. I really mean seemed to, for that left me thinking, that my feets were above my knees, or the young man had a really bad back. But leaving that aside, it make me feel akward, as it always does, and leaves me speachless. I know i do not have that art of giving the blessings. So was relieved that the young man just seamingly wanted the blessings.
Being a marriage season, i had the privilage to witness a physical exersice session directed by the parents of the newly wed. Beta he is so n so, and like a programmed machine, the hands jet out, reach above the knee, and back.
So have we lost the art?? Or its a farce?? Or its just another show of we are modern and still have the traditional values. But again why show .. But i really do miss the older generation, who knew the art, and when they blessed, it was from their heart, and they did mean it, and also the blessings did come true. That art of purity of thought, which had the force behind it, to effect us, and make us feel blessed is lost. May be it had to happen as we who take the blessings too have lost the sincerity. The lost arts of the lost generation.
