It was Friday, the hustle and bustle of the coffee shop above normal, a typical Friday. All walks of life, enjoying sipping the coffee. Even in this surroundings, that’s so infectious I find my old friend, sitting in the corner, his hands over his mugs, his eyes distant, his looks abstract. He's appearing to be unaffected by the boisterous laughter that’s surrounding him. I could not resist, and leave my favourite table to move across to the extreme corner, which he had chosen.
Me: Hi, May I?
He: (nods)
(silence)
Me: What is the matter, seen you after some time? Got some other place to have coffee.
He: You haven’t been doodling with your pad? Got another one?
Me: Change is inevitable, mine is superficial, yours looks deeper.
He: How deep can a change go? skin? mind? body? heart? soul?
Me: Depends on the penetrating factor.
He: What's that?
Me: The accelerating force within, which takes the stimulus, multiplies it with the thoughts and feeling, and drives the change through and through till it breaks you or you break it.
He: Are you drunk?
Me: Always with coffee.
He: Looks like that’s the only stimulus that effects you.
Me: Mostly.
He: Your lucky, its just the coffee.
Me: Who's leaving you?
He: Not this (looking at the mug)
Me: Avoiding?
He: Some things cant be, wish I could.
He: I want to be free.
Me: From
He: This thing holding me.
Me: Coffee?
He: Life.
Me: Riddles? That wasn’t you ever?
He: Why don’t you leave me?
Me: I could easily, but it looks what ever the other thing is it won't.
He: Yeah, neither will life, nor cancer.
