Some comments force your to think. This was one such comment that i happened to receive in this week. It was a meeting, as usual had some planning in mind of how to go about it, but not always the things go as you plan. As i unfolded my thoughts in the meeting, my boss said "you would take the right decision if you thought today was the last day of your life". It left me thinking, had i not put all i had into it, maybe not, the expectations i had set or rather the expectations that people had from me were much further. It was a feedback, i took it, but that bought out the thinking hat (ah it had been a while ... took me a few moments to find that hat) ....
"Is it the right strategy to go ahead, and finish a job, with a feeling there is no tomorrow?"
An analogy to "the call of duty", the words which inspire a man in uniform came to my mind. We the "un-uniformed" take things lightly to what cost? Does this outlook make us not give our 100% to the work .. the feeling that there is tomorrow when i can do it .. ?
